As a scholarship gymnast, Ken graduated from UGA in 1987 with a degree in exercise physiology. A 1992 graduate of Life Chiropractic College, Ken has practiced in Georgia for 31 years. Returning to Athens in early 2009, he took over the very successful Chiropractic Works, established in 1985. With his background as an athlete and having worked with novice and top level olympic and professional athletes, Ken offers a unique blend of chiropractic care, functional & lifestyle medicine, sleep wellness, exercise physiology, and rehabilitative techniques in the prevention and treatment of sports related and spinal injuries.

Dr. Cook is also Athens’ only expert in spinal decompression for the non-surgical treatment of lower back disc conditions and is Athens’ only certified BrainCore clinic using neurofeedback therapy to address conditions such as ADD/ADHD, tension and migraine headaches, memory loss, learning disorders, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, and insomnia.

Dr. Chris Lammert graduated from Life University in Marietta, Ga in 2017 as a Doctor of Chiropractic. As a former college athlete, lover of all sports, husband, father, and active with his local church, he is here to help you feel your best through holistic chiropractic care.

Dr. Lammert first experienced chiropractic care at the age of 14 while dealing with some right shoulder pain and left lower back pain that he attributed to playing baseball. He was informed that even though baseball may have had some effect on his shoulder, his pain may have originated from an auto accident that occurred two years prior. After about a month of care from a chiropractor in his hometown, he no longer had ANY lower back or shoulder pain while playing sports. This led Dr. Lammert to his interest in the human body and how it works.

Dr. Wortel is a proud Georgia native with a passion for biomechanics, rehabilitation, and optimizing patient performance. He first discovered chiropractic care after a childhood injury and saw firsthand its impact on both injury recovery and athletic performance. This early experience fueled his interest in movement science and injury prevention.

His love of biomechanics and peak performance led him to earn a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of North Georgia, where he played collegiate soccer and coached competitive youth teams. Building on his experience in athletics and injury recovery, he pursued his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Life University, graduating as valedictorian.
